Ep. 23 – Rodrigo Quezada – International Businessman & Global Consultant – Focus On Your Purpose

Rodrigo Quezada –  International Businessman & Global Consultant; Why Some People Fail & Others Don’t; Finding and Leading w/Your Purpose; Seeing the Outcome as the Only Thing to Focus On; Training the Mind in the Present

Segment 1: (Length :08:00) – General Updates; Introduction to Rodrigo Quezada and His Background update; Finding & Leading w/Purpose & Getting Rid of the Ego

Rodrigo’s finer points:

Why am I doing stuff. Then figure out what you want to do about it.

For me, it was about impacting people and having a better world.

That means I need to impact people around me starting with myself so we can change the world together.

Once I figured out my purpose, I no longer care how am I going to do it, because you’ll just start and it will happen. The purpose will have a clear outcome.

The purpose allows me to get free from myself because if I focus only on me, then I’ll lose sight of my why.

Segment 2: (Length :12:00) – Talking with Rodrigo Quezada; Managing Your Ego and Not Comparing to Others.

Rodrigo’s finer points:

If I compare myself to others, then I might tell myself the wrong things. I chose a different path; a different kind of standard. You cannot compare to anyone else.

You need to train yourself to look only on your path.

Your purpose is bigger than you. Way bigger. It takes the ego part from you and puts the attention on what is so important to achieve.

If you think of any great entrepreneur; our leaders – they see a problem and they get obsessed on solving that problem, because solving that problem will impact people, make a difference and change the world.

The ego part has two effects – 1.) It allows you to focus on the outcome and not how are you looking to others in the process, and 2.) It allows others to get inspired by it and join the journey.

Segment 3: (Length :20:00) – Seeing the Outcome as the Only Thing to Focus On; Training the Mind in the Present

Rodrigo’s finer points:

If you train yourself to just keep your ego aside and focus on the purpose and the final outcome, this will also allow you to share your concerns, ideas and purpose with so many people. You will find it incredible how many people relate to that purpose and outcome.

When people get inspired, they get behind you. People love to have a dream.

As an entrepreneur, you can’t go and compare to another friend who’s on their second startup. That won’t give you any good results.

Your ego needs to be out. This will allow you to focus on what is important to achieve what you are actually up to. What is important to do to connect to your audience. What are you not seeing that you need to see to get to where you need to go.

You can measure your growth when the amount of negative reaction gets smaller. My metric is how many times did I get upset today and recover to get back to my mission immediately.

When you train yourself day after day and you’re seeing yourself growing while stretching your limits, you actually see the impact you have on others. They’ll start letting you know that too.

As you get better, others get better because of you.

You also need a team to create great things because nobody can do great things alone. And if you’re going to be a great team then you need to trust in your teammates and how they will perform. But you need to stay IN the game at all times. You CANNOT be preoccupied with yourself. if you’re doing that, than you’ve left the game. The clock is always ticking.

Segment 4: (Length :03:00) – Hustler Thought of the Day:

“When I found my life’s purpose, I got out of my own way. Everything became easier. I was no longer concerned with my title but my life’s work to get there.” – Rodrigo Quezada
